Various forms of Bridges


Bicycling bridges - LightPathAKL / Monk Mackenzie Architects + Landlab


Regeneration of an unused high-way into a bridge for pedestrians and bicycles made by Landlab and Monk Mackenzie Architects in Auckland, New Zealand in 2015.


The pink bicycle line really stands out as a landmark of the city. Reminds people that not only roads are important.

Leisure Bridges - THE TIDE By Diller Scofidio + Renfro


The tidy project is at its first phase which was completed in 2019. It was created by Diller Scofidio and Renfro. The bridges are made of prefabricated steel to lower the impact on the London Underground right below.


This bridge is not only a circulation way but also promotes biodiversity and theatre.

It becomes more than a bridge it is a sculpture.

Ecological Bridges - SHENZHEN PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES BY MICHAEL SORKIN STUDIOS


Shenzhen, China, pedestrian bridges proposal made in 2017 by Michael Sorkin Studios. These bridges have the advantage of bringing greenery into a dense urban area without it being a parc.


It promotes biodiversity and lowers the footprint.

Vegetation Hug. Comfort. Regeneration.


Transformed Bridges - Seoullo 7017 Skygarden by MVRDV


This sky garden bridge was built in 2017 by MVRDV in Seoul, South Korea. It was formed on a 1970’s highway. The structure is elevated 16m above ground and is 983m long.


It is a sustainable solution to re-use old unwanted structures. It attracts more people and creates exchange and commerce.
